Community Groups

We cannot achieve our spiritual potential without others.

We really believe this to be true. This is one of the major reasons we think community groups are so important. If you have not yet signed up to be a part of a group we would love for you to join us. This semester we have 3 community groups: one on Tuesday evening and two on Thursday evening. All groups meet from 6:30-8:30pm.

Please email or text (717)512-5209 if you are interested in attending or need more information.

The goal of community groups

Our mission statement says that our primary goal is …leading others to the delight and satisfaction of true life in Jesus Christ.” This is true not only for those who are just coming to know Jesus for the first time, but also for those who have already been following Him. In either case, it’s much easier said than done.

How do we achieve this goal?

We believe that one very important tool in achieving this goal is Community Groups. When we seek to live out our faith together, in an open and honest way, loving each other, accepting one another, challenging each other and holding each other accountable, true life change happens. The kind of life change that is motivating us to find Jesus Christ as our delight and satisfaction in this life.

Importance of community groups

With this in mind, we strongly encourage everyone who regularly attends Resonate to join a community group. It is in these small groups that we can find the safety and confidentiality to share our pain, growth, struggles, joys, frustrations and everything in between.

How and when do community groups meet?

We meet for three trimesters each year for approximately 10 weeks at a time at different locations. These groups have three components:

1. Application and Prayer - Hebrews 10:24-25

2. Build Relationships and Encouragement - John 15:12-13

3. Care and Accountability - Galatians 6:1-3

Our groups are informal, meeting in various locations. Our discussion matter always begins with a review and deeper consideration of the teaching presented on Sunday Morning. Too often we hear lots of good material in church but fail to focus personal application, quickly moving from one teaching time to the next without ever forcing ourselves to absorb and assimilate what we just learned. We also will use other material that will help us challenge ourselves and change to be pleasing to Jesus.
