Tim hails from many points east of Carlisle. He was raised in the Far East, Japan specifically, where his parents were missionaries with TEAM. He finished High School in Wheaton, IL and attended Moody Bible Institute before completing his BA in History from Loyola University of Chicago. He taught Junior High Social Studies for three years before the Lord took him to Grace Theological Seminary for an MDiv degree. During and after seminary, Tim served as pastor in two different churches in the greater Fort Wayne, IN area. For the last 8 years Tim has worked for Celtic Hospice & Healthcare as a Chaplain and in other capacities.
In 2006 Mary and I moved to Carlisle with our two youngest daughters. We didn’t think at that time that we would ever serve in a church again..but the Lord always has a plan, even if we don’t have a clue!
The Lord has walked with us through some dark times in our lives, but through all of them He has been changing us and shaping us to become what He wants us to be.
You see, several years ago I found my life and my marriage falling apart because I didn’t really understand all that it meant to really know the Lord and follow Him. I had found my identity more in what I did than what God had done for me and in me. As a result, like everyone else I found myself looking for that inner satisfaction that always seemed to be just out of reach. In the end I settled for some really poor choices that were sinful, self-centered and hurtful to many.
Despite my failures, the Lord has had amazing love and mercy on me. While I’ve suffered the discipline of a loving Father, He has made it clear that He still has work for me to do. Now I find that I want nothing more than to share with others the greatness of a forgiver God who loves to give second chances to those who come to Him with empty hands and a broken, humble heart.
It should be no surprise then that here at Resonate our passion is to make much of Jesus Christ by leading others to the delight and satisfaction of true life in Him. After all, it’s not just something that sounds good, but it’s what I’ve experienced and it’s what I want you to experience too!
